DRAWINGS and DESIGNS for FRAMES
This section of The Frame Blog is intended to collect together from various sources – museums and elsewhere – as many as possible designs and drawings of, or to do with, frames. These include some studies and details of architecture by artists which may relate to the settings of moveable paintings, altarpieces, frescos or relief carvings; elevations of rooms with painted, stucco or putative moveable frames; and drawings for engraved frames. It will never be complete, but will be continuously updated.
